Blast from the past.

Kids today have all these new gadgets to play with, in primary schools it’s not surprising to see kids playing with their Nintendo 3ds’ and their mp3 players at break, when i was a kid i was happy enough with my gameboy and my portable cd player, of course the cd player wasn’t really portable because if i even moved the cd would skip.

What happened to the days when kids would just play football or basketball on the playground?  in the words of the great Will Smith “On the playground is where I spent most of my days, Chillin out, maxin, relaxing all cool,  And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school”

So lets go back in time a bit and look at the gadgets that were the big thing back in the day.

Gameboy Colour

The gameboy colour was released on November 27, 1998, and nearly every kid in school had one, the best selling games including Tetris, Pokemon red, blue, yellow, gold and silver, Super Mario land and many more!

CD players

Anyone remember walking around as a kid bopping down the road with your cd player? and probably listening to this song:

Furby was everyones favourite hamster/owl/ thing? Furby woke you up in the middle of the night, would start up out of nowhere and scare the living daylight out of you, but we all still loved Furby!

If you’re looking for a furby there’s a website where you can actually adopt a Furby, sounds weird I know, but I guess there’s still some Furby enthusiasts out there!  www.adoptafurby.com

So what were your favourite gadgets as a kid? let me know in the comments below!
