BGT looses ratings war with The Voice!

ITV bosses last night claimed that dirty tricks by new BBC show The Voice resulted in lower viewing figures for Britain’s Got Talent. The Voice was at its “battle” stage – which is pre- recorded and edited down to 90 minutes. But it mysteriously over-ran by three minutes, so that BGT fans  missed the start of the show.

The Voice has attracted more than 11.6million fans – one million more than Simon Cowell’s BGT.
Mike Large, ITV’s Director of Communications, said: “Probably just a rather strange coincidence that The Voice UK over ran by 3 minutes last night and overlapped with BGT.

“Those kind of over-runs only normally tend to happen on live shows, don’t they?”
“It makes you think it was just a dirty trick to hit us.”

Last night a BBC source said: “We’d planned to make the show 100 minutes but when they moved BGT to 8.30pm we cut it to 90. We have no interest in overlapping”

Personally I am not a huge fan of either shows and I am also glad to see Simon Cowell has been well and truly knocked off his perch! about time I say!
